ACF is urgently seeking to fill the vacancy of Disaster Risk Reduction Supervisor for an Emergency WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) project funded by ECHO. The Supervisor will be based in Masvingo operating from Chiredzi District.

Main duties
- Responsible for collaborating/liaising with District Civil Protection Committee to mainstream disaster management issues in the Wash Program
- Coordinate/conduct awareness training on disaster management and preparedness plans to the village disaster management committee, ward disaster management committee and district civil protection /disaster management committee
- Identifying and mapping of all hazards in the district and conduct risk and vulnerability analysis
- Conduct village awareness training in all villages located in prone areas on disaster management and preparedness plans in Chipinge district
- Coordinate/conduct disaster management training to partners (NGOs, CBOs) operating in the area
- Guide the stakeholders in their endeavors’ in developing Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR)
- Conduct meetings/workshops in the community for Monitoring and Evaluations of the project

Level of studies and experience
University degree/diploma in Social Science, Development Studies, Environmental Health or related field of disaster management and at least 3 years of work experience in the sector of development with strong experience of working in the field of emergencies, disaster preparedness, response and risk reduction would be considered an advantage.

Required sills
- Knowledge of current key developments and situation in natural disaster, response, preparedness
- Good ability in partnering and networking
- Ability to express ideas and concepts clearly and concisely in written and oral form
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure
- Good communication skills
- Motorbike driving license and riding experience an advantage
- Knowledge of English and Shona languages
- Good interpersonal relationships and strong personality; a team player
- Good knowledge of the intervention area and local customs
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel, any analysis package is a plus)
