The duties of the Field Officer will be:
- coordinate with senior project staff for effective implementation of project activities
- facilitate beneficiary mobilisation and identification
- conduct trainings on operation and maintenance of water supply and sanitation facilities
- monitor ongoing rehabilitation activities as per design, specifications and work schedule
- prepare weekly, monthly work plans and progress reports
- verify the work done on site and recommend payments to contractors/casual labourers
- train community institutions on participatory health and hygiene
- participate in the selection, designing, pre-testing, developing, dissemination and evaluation of appropriate IEC hygiene material for effective hygiene promotion in the target area;
- develop and maintain contacts with all relevant stakeholders including government.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience required
- Degree/Diploma in Public Health, Water Resource Management, Development Studies or related field.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Water and Sanitation programmes, preferably in an NGO environment
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Computer skills in various MS Office applications, including any project management software/application
- Clean class 4 and class 3 driver’s licence
