Job Summary

General Manager - Dorowa Minerals LTD

A vacancy has arisen for the above-mentioned position which is based at the mine in Buhera. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of Chemplex Corporation Limited, the successful candidate will be expected, inter alia, to discharge the following major responsibilities:

Mining

• Monitoring and controlling the mining ore.
• Preparing mining plans and evaluating equipment to meet the plans.
• Ensuring compliance with statutory and local authority legislation.
• Preparing and implementing production plans to meet customer needs.

Engineering

• Developing and maintaining an effective and integrated system for engineering operations of the mine.
• Evaluating and preparing capital expenditure proposals and ensuring thereof within projected time frames and budgets.

Administration

• Preparing the budget for the mine for approval and ensuring its implementation.
• Preparing the procurement plan for the mine.
• Ensuring adequate stores materials and spares holding.

Human Resources

• Developing and maintaining effective human resources utilization.
• Developing subordinates through effective training, performance management and counseling.
• Building effective communication systems both internally and externally for cordial industrial relations and a good external image.

RequirementsApplications are invited from suitable candidates who meet the following attributes:

Education

• A relevant basic degree in Metallurgy, Geology, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering,
• Plus Mine Manager's Diploma.

Experience

• At least five years senior managerial experience in a mining environment.
