Job Summary
Freda Rebecca Gold Mine currently has a vacancy for an Electrical Engineer who will be reporting to the Engineering Manager.
The successful candidate will:
- Plan, develop, and/or maintain power distribution systems to meet or exceed Underground, Surface and Plant standards,
- Provide expertise in power distribution troubleshooting to cater for all electrical equipment.
- Generate and/or maintain company documentation including schematics and manuals; approve all electrical design work in conjunction with project engineers and operations engineers,
- Ensure that life cycle plans exist and are maintained for power distribution systems. These plans to reflect actions required to meet future requirements,
- Provide input to specification of new generation projects,
- Plan and supervise power generating equipment,
- Provide technical leadership for maintenance through the use of computerized planning, modelling, and predictive maintenance systems,
- Provide technical leadership with the implementation of cutting edge processes and safety practices,
- Provide Human resource management skills,
- Decide on the type and arrangement of circuits and transformers,
- Write and interpret specifications and regulations about electric power equipment and its use.
- Ensure Inspection and Certification of Equipment as per legal and Occupational Health and Safety Requirements,
- Implementing and maintaining ISO 14001 and OHSAS 180
Requirements
Qualifications an Experience
- Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
- Post-graduate degree would be desirable and specialized software skills a must.
- A minimum of five years work experience in a similar role with Gold mining exposure. The candidate must possess the ability to practice and promote safe work behaviours. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to the success of this position. The candidate must be an exceptional team leader with a flexible attitude and sound work ethic.
