Description
Reporting to the Malaria Program Manager, the position will have the following duties and Responsibilities: -
Work closely with the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) to provide technical support for malaria surveillance, monitoring and evaluation, and operations research (SMEO) activities.
Provide technical and training support for malaria stratification, malaria epidemic preparedness and response (EPR) and integrated disease surveillance and response (IDSR).
Facilitate MOHCW quarterly district health team meetings and provincial SMEO review meetings.
Provide SMEO training support and supervision at MOHCW national, provincial, district to ward levels. Work closely with the MOHCW National Health Information System (NHIS) directorate and NMCP to t provide technical support to improve routine malaria data collection and reporting from community to national level. ,
Provide technical assistance in developing and implementing the NMCP SMEO national strategic plan.
Assist in the implementation of national malaria assessments, including case management audits and health system capacity assessments for malaria control and pre-elimination activities.
Work closely with the PSI research and metrics department in implementing national quantitative and qualitative surveys.
Assist in preparation of periodic SM EO reports per NMCP and donor requirements. Perform additional duties as requested by the Malaria Manager.

Requirements
Required Skills, qualifications and experience
Degree in Environmental Health or any Health Sciences. Masters in Public Health (MPh) is an added advantage. Experience in malaria programming.
Comprehensive knowledge and experience with the MOHCW HIS. Excellent statistical analysis skills and computer skills.
At least a 2 years clean class 4/5 driver's licence.
