Senior Consultant

Job Description
Our International client is a styreategic communication consultancy organisation who has recently opened a Harare Office is looking for a Senior Consultant to be based in Harare. They specialize in publications and corporate communications.

Main Responsibilities And Tasks
Manage multiple accounts across a range of sectors, give a creative and strategic lead, build strong and profitable client relationship Drive innovation and the sharing of best practices through systems, templates, processes to continuously add value to our work in a structured way
Business development
Lead business development in the region and develop a focused strategy related to the area of expertise
Lead the Business Intelligence and Research practice in the region and spearhead business development in this area.
Support marketing and PR initiatives to generate new business leads
Network to develop prospect list
Manage a team of consultants and associate consultants, give directions and objectives, assess individual performance
Contribute to the employees’ engagement and motivation throughout the Region
Identify training needs and provide support and training to team members
Coordinate campaigns across different regions in Zimbabwe and other African countries
Direct regional work streams for Group level accounts and locally sourced accounts
Manage high level public policy research and lead regulatory and stakeholder engagement activities in the region
Develop and maintain high level government, corporate and/or media relationship

Job Requirements
At least 5 years experience in strategic communications with a focus on one our requested areas of expertise
Professional skills
Ability to direct accounts strategically and profitably, advising and adding value to clients at CEO level
Personal skills
Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
Fluency in other language would be an advantage (notably Shona , Ndebele, French or Portuguese)
Capability to manage high level stakeholder engagement and navigate complex and sensitive stakeholder relationships
Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic working environment
Ability to motivate and manage accounts teams (including cross border)
Strong crisis management and project management skills
Ability to manage budgets and deliver across multiple work streams on schedule
Previous work experience in a similar role in Zimbabwe is an added advantage
In-depth knowledge of regional and African media and government landscape
Ability to travel extensively
Stakeholder engagement and media relations experience with top tier blue chip clients essential
