Mapping of Community Cadres in SRH, HIV & TB: UNFPA

Employer: UNFPA
Location: Harare

Job Summary

Zimbabwe’s health priorities are outlined in the National Health Strategy 2009-2013, the Maternal and Neonatal Health Road Map (2007-2015), the 2011-2015 Zimbabwe National AIDS Strategic Plan (ZNASP II), as well as in the National GBV Strategy 2012-2015. These policy documents have recognised the immense contribution of community-based interventions in response to health issues. A number of community based cadres, including those on the government payroll and volunteers in different capacities have been instrumental in alleviating the burden on health facilities by providing community based services in their communities. These community-based systems have served as a way to improve access and utilisation of health services.
