Purpose of the job
The successful candidate will be accountable for formulation, design,
planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of the WASH Programme
with focus on upstream works to ensure overall efficiency and
effectiveness of the programme management, delivery and accomplishment
of programme goals and objectives. He/she will be expected to
effectively engage in policy dialogue with the Government for programme
development, advocating for increased equitable public resource
allocation and budgeting towards the WASH sector and sustainable
decentralization of WASH services and local capacity building in support
of the goal of universal coverage to support the Millennium Development
Goals (MDGs). The role also involves supporting identification of
gender inequalities and implementing programmes to eliminate the
inequalities.
