Overview:
The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to
strengthening integrated health systems in the developing world and expanding access to preventative health interventions such as care and treatment for HIV/AIDS, vaccines, malaria and other diseases. Currently, CHAI partners with governments in more than 25 countries, while more than 70 countries directly benefit from the low-priced drugs, diagnostic tests, and vaccines agreements that CHAI has negotiated. CHAI signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Zimbabwe in 2007 to provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Health and strengthen health systems. Since 2007, CHAI Zimbabwe's operational portfolio has expanded to include: Laboratory Systems, PMTCT, Male Circumcision, Drug Access, Malaria and TB programs. In September 2014, CHAI Zimbabwe, together with three other CHAI country teams, will launch a new Pediatric HIV Program. This work continues CHAI's legacy of commitment to accelerating access to quality HIV care and affordable formulations for pediatrics.

Summary of Position:
The Program Officers will lead the support for sub-national implementation for Zimbabwe's new pediatric HIV initiative, which aims to strengthen identification of pediatric HIV and TB, improve retention along the eMTCT-Peds cascade and expand access to high quality pediatric HIV and TB services. These efforts will require extensive engagement with the Ministry of Health, other partner organizations and various teams within CHAI. The positions will be based in Harare and require extensive local travel.

We are seeking experienced, talented, highly motivated, and flexible individuals to support CHAI Zimbabwe in attaining its ambitious Pediatric HIV targets. CHAI places great value on personal qualities including resourcefulness, responsibility, tenacity, independence, energy, and work ethic.

Responsibilities:
Assist the team in setting-up the Pediatric HIV program, including initial data collection for baseline analyses;
Conduct data collection and analysis of the pilot projects to be conducted as part of the grant;
Provide support in logistical preparation, program reports and materials for stakeholder meetings
Develop content and supervise trainings for health-care workers and district officials as per program objectives and strategy;
Maintain excellent working relationships with relevant provincial, district and site staff;
Develop tools for monitoring and evaluation, data collection and job-aides;
Provide hands-on support for implementation program evaluations at the sub-national level;
Support the Pediatric HIV team in maintaining current and detailed electronic and paper files;
Provide regular reports on field operations and progress to Program Manager;
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.

Qualifications:
University degree, with a focus on public health, development or clinical skills;
5+ years of professional experience in the public health sector in Zimbabwe, preferably at the provincial and district levels
Project coordination experience, including experience working in diverse teams, managing budgets and financial reporting, engaging in procurement processes, and effective work planning;
Proven ability to operate independently, to multitask, and to set and achieve ambitious targets with limited guidance, and ability to demonstrate creative thinking about major challenges facing Zimbabwe;
Proven ability to learn and adapt quickly to new program settings with minimal supervision, learning new administrative and project management systems;
Exceptional communication skills, including excellent spoken and written English, and strength in building and maintaining relationships.
Good proficiency in relevant computer applications, particularly MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Experience in building and deploying M&E tools .
