Health Program Officer: ARK

ARK is an international organization whose purpose is positively to transform children’s lives. In partnership with the Ministry of Health and Child Welfare, ARK is contributing towards improved maternal and newborn care in Zimbabwe. ARK now invites applications from outstanding candidates for the key role of Programme Officer to help take this work forward.This exciting and challenging post offers the opportunity to collaborate with the Zimbabwean Ministry of Health and Child Welfare, and other stakeholders, to ensure the successful implementation of the ARK supported programme. We are looking for a highly motivated individual, who is able to work independently with minimal supervision. The candidate must have excellent programme management skills, be a team player, and have a strong and relevant professional network.

The ideal candidate will have experience of conducting a rigorous planning process and agreeing appropriate projections; developing annual implementation plans in line with a strategic plan; identifying training needs; and undertaking monitoring visits to ensure implementation is on track. For this stretching role, we also require candidates to offer:

Degree/Diploma in nursing with midwifery
Or
- Public Health with a good understanding of Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health
- At least 5 years experience in Maternal and Child Health including programme coordination and management
- Clean class 4 drivers Licence
- Highly motivated individual, who is able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Given the nature of this role, we require flexibility on working hours and willingness to travel outside duty station.
