Duties and responsibilities
Co-ordinate recruitment and selection, training, promotion, grading and discipline of all Junior and Technical staff
Attend to grievances from Junior and Technical staff and interpret regulations, policies and employment laws
Carry out necessary research in policies and advise management accordingly
Provide secretarial services to Board Meetings and University Committee
Supervise Internal messenger, External messenger, Clerical assistant and the Receptionist
Interact with Labour Relations Officers to gather updates on labour issues and advise management accordingly
Process temporary employment permits for all International staff
Perform staff duties and keep updated statistics of Junior and Technical staff
Process all overtime claims
Updating of leave schedule for all contract staff
Co-ordinating the allocation of University staff houses and general maintenance
Appointment of part time lecturers and planning for their travels and accommodation

Qualifications
A first degree in Social Sciences from a reputable University with at least an Upper Second Class pass
Possession of a relevant Master’s Degree in Management or equivalent would be an added advantage
Diploma in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations or Labour Law
Membership of a recognized relevant professional association
High level of computer literacy
At least 7 years’ proven experience as a Human Resources Management/Industrial relations practitioner with reputable organisations
