- Ensuring the health and safety of all staff involved in Mining operations in compliance with company standards.
- Ensuring that underground mining operational capability and performance is maintained through appropriate selection of personnel; setting of clear accountabilities for all team members; effective performance management; development and training of personnel.
- Ensuring that underground mining team members receive the coaching required to support their respective accountabilities.
- Supporting the Mining Manager in the development and implementation of an annual plan and budget for underground mining operations.
- Ensuring quarterly production targets in terms of quantity and quality are achieved in line with the annual plan.
- Ensuring that Mining operations have the systems, policies and procedures in place to meet statutory requirements for the next twelve months.
- Ensuring that monthly expenditure on labour, production consumables and services is in line with the operating budget.
Experience/Qualifications:
Contact:- At least 8 years experience at an underground mining operation (Gold/Platinum)
- Tertiary degree in Mining Engineering, Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency
- diploma/ degree
- MS Word and Excel
- Initiative and strong problem solving and communication skills
- Proven safety management performance in a mining operation
