The Accountant is responsible for financial accounting and financial compliance under the USAID funded Single Year Assistance Program (SYAP) - PRIZE.

Reporting To Program Manager
Supervision Of Subordinate Accounting Personnel
Interacts With Managers

Job Description:
Oversee accounting of funds, disbursements and expenditures
Maintain accounting systems, policies and procedures, financial controls, strict accounting standards and accounting records
Manage and internally control fund use and amounts paid to sub-recipients, using appropriate checks and controls
Advise sub-recipients on accounting, and financial payment requirements
Prepare and submit complete, accurate and timely financial reports
Oversee sub-recipient agreement financial compliance, budget tracking and financial projections
Oversee Program compliance with OMB A110 and A133 guidelines, donor standard provisions and regulations
Work with Program Manager and WDC Project accountant on the Program's financial and accounting issues

Candidate Specification:
Experience 5 years
Education Level Degree
Qualifications ACCA, ICSA, CIMA CPA or other recognized professional qualification
Software Accounting Software (Quickbooks) / MS Office
Equipment n/a

Knowledge Of Accounting for donor funded programs & familiarity with USAID financial reporting
Skills To Contract & superve financial audits and follow up on audit recommendations
Ability To Ability to manage and supervise technical staff
Personality Good presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
Other Good knowledge of the local tax laws and the social security law
