Description:
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:~
Responsible to ensure compliance to Legal
requirements and Management specifications, and the completion of records pertaining to his/her area of responsibility, as stipulated by the regulations.
MAJOR OUTPUTS
•The control of production operations within a
designated area
•Supervision, labour allocation and optimal utilization of resources.
•Ensuring conformity with Anglo American mining standards and mining regulations.
•Daily marking, drilling, charging and blasting of Production/decline faces and bords
•The continuous evaluation and monitoring of work performances and the taking of adequate measures to ensure workers are competent to perform their duties.
•Co-ordinating mining activities, logistical activities and resources through planning, scheduling and communications.
•Evaluating daily operations to ensure safety
performance
•Optimising production through the utilisation of resources, motivation and development of personnel.
•Daily monitoring and reporting of underground operations including safety of personnel and equipment.
•Achievement of area planned production
Requirements:
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS
•A recognized degree or diploma in mining
engineering.
•A full blasting license and NEC certificate.
•At least 3 years hard rock mining experience
preferably in trackless mining
•Must be able to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
